| BRICK Brick took a step back in time to the bygone days of the American Civil War on August 11 through 13, as the Brick Township Historical Society played host to the 61st New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment at its Havens Homestead Museum property. The volunteers spent the weekend and demonstrated what life would have been like during an encampment in the war torn period over a century ago. Hundreds of people visited during the three day period. They also took tours of the museum.
The next meeting of the Brick Township Historical Society will be September 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the Herbertsville Firehouse, 601 Herbertsville Road. Clark Donlin will portray Lt. Colonel Henry Washington Sawyer from the Civil War.
