BRICK PARADE HONORS THE FALLEN BRICK - Hundreds of Brick Township residents once again lined Chambersbridge Road on Monday, gathering along the entire length of the thoroughfare to not only enjoy community spirit and recognize Brick's numerous volunteer, civic and school organizations, but to honor those fallen in battle. It was, of course, Memorial Day, a day set aside for remembrance. For two hours a steady stream of veterans, firemen, EMTs and police officers, civic groups, school bands, youth organizations like the Cub, Boy and Girl Scouts and Little League and Pop Warner leagues - not to mention classic cars and motorcycles - and many others made their way down the road to smiles and applause from the crowd. The parade was followed by a Memorial Day ceremony in front of town hall.
