Monmouth County Fire Academy Graduates 30
MONMOUTH COUNTY - The Monmouth County Fire Academy recently graduated 30 volunteers from Firefighter I Class No. 72. The ceremony was held August 21.
The firefighters attended weekend classes and completed more than 130 hours of course work. They received training in rescue, fire extinguishment, hazardous materials response, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, electrical safety and care of hoses and other equipment.
William Itinger, chief training officer at the Howell facility, said this new crop of firefighters, like the 10,000 other firefighters who receive training at the Fire Academy each
year, worked hard to achieve their goals.
"They are extremely dedicated," Itinger said. "They demonstrated their dedication during
training and I have no doubt they will provide a valuable service to their communities."
Each firefighter was awarded their Firefighter I certificate.
