Brick Library Events
To register for the following programs, please call the Brick branch of The Ocean County Library at 732-477-4513. All programs are free and open to the public.

Adult Programs

May 12 and 19, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. - English Conversation Group. A weekly informal conversation group for people who are learning English, led by trained volunteers. All are welcome.

May 13, 20 and 27, 7 to 8 p.m. - English Conversation Group. A weekly informal conversation group for people who are learning English led by trained volunteers. All are welcome.

May 19, 2 p.m. - Knitting Around Club. Learn from scratch, refresh skills or try some new techniques. Bring a skein of worsted yarn and a pair of size 7, 8 or 10 needles. All skill levels welcome.

May 20, 9 to 11 a.m. - Free Blood Pressure Screening. Screenings are provided by the Ocean County Health Department, and no appointment is necessary.

Teen Programs

May 15, 6:30 p.m. - Anime Extravaganza. Are you the biggest anime fan ever? Join them for some exciting Guitar Hero, LARP, cosplay and traditional Japanese food. Sponsored by the Brick Memorial Graphic Novel Society.

Book Discussions

May 22, 4 p.m. - Book Discussion Group. For ages 8 and up. Please see the librarian for book title.

Family And Children's Programs

May 13, 4 p.m. - Brick Bookworm Club. For ages 6 and up. "Ms. Frizzle's Adventures in Imperial China" by Joanne Cole. Please come to the children's desk to pick up the book before discussion.

May 14, 4 p.m. - Special Needs Story Time. For children/families. Come and enjoy fun stories, songs and activities. All abilities are welcome.

May 14, 21 and 28 or May 13, 20 and 27, 10:30 a.m. - Preschool Story Time. For ages 3 to 5. Enjoy fun stories and activities.

May 15, 22 and 29, 9:30 a.m. - Babies Rhyme Time. Babies not yet walking are invited to bring mommy and enjoy rhyme time.

May 15, 22 and 29, 10:30 a.m. or May 13, 20 and 27, 9:30 a.m. - Toddler Fun-time. For ages 1 and 2. Come with your toddlers to enjoy fun stories, finger plays, songs and other surprises.

May 17, 3 to 4:30 p.m. - 2008 Chinese Hand Puppet Show. Fire Mountain, Journey for Monk Tang and Monkey King for children/ families. Let's celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month in May. Wang Da Chung Hand Puppet Group will present its 2008 production of the famous Chinese fable, "The Monkey King." They will also experience Chinese yo-yo, hand puppet

Computer Programs

May 21, 2 p.m. - Get Blogging. Learn how to set up your own blog account, and update it by posting writings, pictures and links to other Web sites.
