Join The Cause For Paws 5K Run And Fun Walk
TOMS RIVER - The Ocean Pet Caring Foundation invites all runners and pet lovers to join the fun at the Third Annual Cause for Paws 5K Run and Fun Walk on July 27 at Winding River Park. Through this event, the Ocean Pet Caring Foundation (OPCF) raises awareness for local animals in need of veterinary care as well as raise funds to help care for them.
"Every pet deserves quality veterinary care, even if they have been abandoned or if their family is experiencing hardship," said Tori Lattig, OPCF's event coordinator. "Our mission is to provide funds for the care of indigent animals and to provide support for various shelters and pet rescue organizations in New Jersey. Working with these rescue organizations also gives us the opportunity to help match families with homeless pets, making both people and animals happier."
The Cause for Paws 5K Run is a great opportunity for everyone, including pets, to show support for this worthy cause. The 5K run will begin at 8:30 a.m., and medals will be awarded to the top three males and females in various age categories. The fun walk starts at 9 a.m., and pets are welcome to join their owners for this non-competitive event. There will also be refreshments, a silent auction and free T-shirts to the first 100 registrants.
Registration forms are available at Ocean County Veterinary Hospital at 838 River Avenue in Lakewood, Fischer Veterinary Hospital at 877 Fischer Boulevard in Toms River or online at www.oceanpetcaring.org. Pre-registration pricing of $20 for the run ends on July 11. After July 11, the registration fee for the run will be $25. The fee for the onemile non-competitive fun walk is $15 and, of course, your canine companion is welcome to join you.
The Ocean Pet Caring Foundation is a registered New Jersey non-profit organization dedicated to caring for pets in need. They envision a future when more pets are saved and more families enjoy companions with happier and healthier lives.
